For parents

Before the visit

A few small things the day before make the chair easier.

  • Talk about it

Tell your child in a few words what will happen: a chair, a cape, a comb and some snips. A short story or a picture book about haircuts helps.

  • Dress for it

A top that's easy to cover with a cape, and nothing tight at the neck. Hair can be dry, or washed and detangled for a braid or twist style.

  • Bring comfort

A favorite toy, a book or a snack for after. Children who bring something to hold stay in the chair longer.

In the chair

What happens once you arrive.

  1. 01

    Step 1: When you arrive

Arrive five minutes early so your child can look around. Check in at the desk and sit on the bench. There's a low table with paper and crayons while you wait.

  2. 02

    Step 2: What to expect

Your stylist says hello at your child's height, shows the tools while they're switched off and cuts in short stretches. You stay with your child, and we stop whenever your child asks. A first cut takes about 20 to 30 minutes.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Afterward

We brush the hair down, let your child look in the mirror and book the next visit if you'd like one. A tip is welcome and never expected.

Can I stay? And other questions

Can I stay?

Yes. One grown-up stays for the whole visit, in the chair with a small child or on the bench beside an older one.

Can brothers and sisters watch?

Yes. Siblings wait and watch beside you, and a sibling visit books them in back to back.

What if my child cries?

Crying is allowed. We pause, let your child hold the tools again and carry on only when they say so. A visit can end with a trim and a second visit later.

Can my child bring a tablet?

A quiet book or a toy is better in the chair, because a screen makes it hard to hold the head still. On a quiet-hours morning we keep the room calm for everyone.

What do you say to my child?

We explain each step in a few words before we do it, and we ask before we use a tool near their ears. We never hold a child down.

Come and look around

A visit can start with a look at the studio and the tools. Book a haircut or call us.
